Put the hinge on the hinge side of the cabinet door where you marked from the bottom and arrange it so it s in the position it needs to be installed in. Open and close the door to verify that the oil gets all the way to the bottom part of the hinge pin. Place the hinge pin in the hinge to secure the new hinge. Now lubricate the hinges with oil and add some drops at the top of the raised pin.

To create a matching even gap along the bottom of the door use another hinge as a spacer. To do this remove the door and take the hinge off the cabinet. The next step is to locate the screw holes for the hinge in the door. Make the cut as deep as the hinge is thick.

Use the chisel to carve out the wood inside the outlines of the hinge. Place your new hinge over the location of the old one. Then with the door in place mark the location of the hinge on the door.
